These vintage illustrated pocket guides were a British institution from the 1930s onwards — small hardbacks covering astronomy, aircraft, railways, sea and seashore, and more, designed to be carried, used and treasured. Decades later, they're still all of those things, with the added charm of having genuinely lived a life.
