I've spent way too long wondering about all the letters this bottle helped write. Antique stoneware ink bottle from the late 1800s or early 1900s, the most gorgeous treacle-brown glaze that shifts from amber to chocolate depending on the light.
The cylindrical form feels substantial in your hand, with that thick-walled stoneware heft that tells you it was made to last generations (and clearly has). Originally held ink for fountain pens, now perfect as a petite vase for single stems, or honestly just beautiful sitting on a shelf doing absolutely nothing.
Shows age gracefully with some roughness at the base from a century of desk duty – the kind of wear that proves this piece had a real working life. The narrow mouth and rolled rim remain pristine.
About 4.5 inches tall, the perfect scale for creating small moments of beauty. Once it's gone, it's gone.
